Upper Waitematā Ecology Network (UWEN) is a collaborative group of community based environmental protection groups working across the Upper Waitematā Harbour area to protect native habitats at a local and landscape scale.
Coastal Clean Up 2026
It's back for 2026! The 3rd annual inner harbour clean up that sees volunteers join forces on a combined day of action. Removing litter and rubbish from the coastal edge to save it polluting the local environment or travelling out to the ocean.
With 8 sites you can choose from, all taking part at the same time on the same day, come along and make a difference.
In 2025 we had over 300 volunteers take part and pull out 25 cubic metres or rubbish.
