The Waiarohia Stream has been left to turn to weeds and wasteland but over the last few years a slow but very noticeable change is happening.... new native plants are moving in, we are fighting back against the weeds and pest animals and the whole site is getting a makeover!
Come and see for yourself what's happening. If you've been involved in planting days here before, come and see how your plants are getting on and marvel at how things have changed.
We are planning a series of events to clear weeds, make space for native trees to thrive and generally just enjoy being outside doing something positive for nature.
No experience necessary, we'll help you identify the good plants from the "bad" and provide all the tools and equipment you need. If you have questions or want to find out more about this project then email rachael@uwen.org.nz
