Raising awareness of our work and sharing knowledge

Making a difference locally and regionally

Campaigning for environmental protection

The collaborative efforts of our volunteers empower us to have meaningful impact on the environment at a landscape scale.   Here are just some examples of the mahi work that we have done in the last 12 months:

Education

A snapshot of the work that we do to help upskill and educate the community:

  • Public hui and workshops on key topics (bat monitoring, kiwi protection, native bird monitoring)

  • Guided and themed walks and events (pest animal control, pest plant control, night walks)

  • Offer leadership and project opportunities to students (personal growth, transferable skills)

  • Newsletter and social media posts (cover topics of interest, share knowledge and locally relevant information)

Projects include:

  • Submissions and presentation in regards to Local Plan Changes in Whenuapai

  • Operational and strategic feedback on Upper Harbour Local Board's Pest Management Strategy
