Planting afternoon - Whenuapai

You might not have heard of the Waiarohia Stream but it's a pretty important place. Native birds call it home, native fish swim in it's waters and it flows out to the inner harbour. We're supporting local schools to improve the habitat here from a weedy wasteland to a rich, biodiverse river side haven.

The land isn't normally open to the public so come along and explore this space, it will be an integral part of future urban development so let's invest time now to make it a valuable resource in the future.

We will provide tools, gloves and the plants - we just need you to help us out! The plants will all be laid out ready for you so all you need to do is come along, dig some holes and fill them up with plants - how easy is that! Then in 10 years time you c…
